James Aird

I am a senior research fellow at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. I completed my PhD at Imperial College London, followed by postdoctoral appointments at UC San Diego, Durham University and the University of Cambridge, before moving to Leicester in 2017. My research involves statistical studies of large X-ray and multiwavelength surveys that I use to track the co-evolution of AGN and galaxies. I am also closely involved in preparations for the Athena X-ray Observatory – the European Space Agency’s next large X-ray mission.

Research Interests:
The evolution of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) and their co-evolution with galaxies; statistical studies using large X-ray and multiwavelength surveys; the Athena X-ray observatory.
